Mother's Day

Being my first Mother's Day, I didn't really have any expectations especially since Kellen is only 3 months old. Billy did make breakfast and we mostly hung out in the morning (just like any other Sunday). They did surprise me with a gift. I conveniently left the website with a necklace that I liked up on my husband's computer about three weeks ago; I guess he can take a hint! We went to church, and then off to spend the rest of the day with my mother. After church we drove an hour to have lunch with the WHOLE family. Complete chaos, as usual. I don't know why I ever expect anything less. Kids running around, babies crying, obnoxious picture taking, it was a day of pure bliss! I was just happy to get home and spend the evening with my little boy. Of course he was wiped out from all the visiting. It was a Mother’s Day I’ll never forget!

Three Months Old

My baby boy is growing so fast! He is 3 months old today. I can't believe the time has gone by so fast. He is so good. He's been sleeping through the night since 4 weeks old. I just dropped his last feeding (that was at 9pm), and he's still sleeping from 8pm-7am every night. My husband and I certainly get enough sleep in our house, yet we're still tired.

I started back to work FULL-TIME this week. UGH! Its been a little rough having to leave him, but I know he's in good hands. I have to say the most difficult thing has been adjusting to the new schedule. Its so much harder getting a baby up and out in the morning than it is when its just you. I have learned to get everything ready the night before. I have to lay out our clothes, get the bottles ready, and pack the diaper bag. Otherwise, we'll never get out in the morning! I don't know how working moms do it; keeping up with the laundry, making dinner, cleaning the house, and work. They really are Super Heroes!

It's A Boy

After fourteen hours of labor and delivery Kellen Christopher was born. He weighted 8lbs 4 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was healthy and sweet as can be, even from the beginning. We ended up spending five really long days in the hospital. I had some complications after childbirth and he had jaundice. I thought he looked cute, like he had a little tan. After sitting under the lights for a day, his jaundice really cleared up and they let us go home. It was so good to be home! I missed the girls (our dogs, Nikki and Lucy) so much.

Will he ever get here?

Well, where do I start...

Pregnancy, was awful! I was sick everyday for most of the first and second trimester. I finally started to feel better around week 23. It was so nice to finally eat real food again, I was sooo over the saltines and jello! However, it only lasted for a few weeks. It was about 12:30 a.m. when the first attack started. I woke up in the night to a sharp pain in my right side. Then the nausea started. I was doubled over in pain on the the bathroom floor. I was pretty sure it was one of two things, either my appendix or gallbladder. After several hours I finally started to feel some relief. After speaking with my doctor and some tests it was confirmed that I had gall stones. At the time I was hoping this was just a one time episode; but it was just the start of many long sleepless nights.

By the time I reached 40 weeks, I had gained no pregnancy weight and was having attacks on a regular basis. The doctors just kept telling me to try to hold out until the baby arrived. Finally, 3 days past my due date my doctor induced me. My husband and I were so excited that he was finally on his way!
