New Camera Pics

Here's just a few more Christmas pictures that I was able to take with my new camera. Most of these I would have missed with my old camera, just because it was so slow to snap the pictures. My new camera is like lightning speed! I've only gotten through the first 10 pages of the manual, so I've got a lot to learn!

Christmas Eve

Kellen really wanted the munkin (Donut) tree!
Every year we spend Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the family. We had lots of family, food, and entertainment. Kellen looked so cute in his sweater, tie, and Converse shoes just like his Uncle Keith. He also got a very special gift from his Aunt Debbie and Uncle Keith K. He made a wooden chest for Kellen. It is beautiful! I know its something that he will have forever. After all the guests left, we read the Christmas Story to Kellen and then off to bed. As usual we could hardly sleep!

Christmas Day

We couldn't wait for Christmast to get here fast enough. We have been anxiously awaiting Kellen's first Christmas. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Bobby, and cousin Hannah came from Vermont to spend Christmas with us. Kellen really enjoyed spending time and playing with Hannah. He was very interested in the wrapping and tissue paper at first, but after he opened his first present he quickly became interested in the gift. The only problem was, that once he opened one he only wanted to play with that gift and didn't want to open any other toys. It took some time for him to get through all his gifts. He got several new toys, including a lawn mower, school bus, blocks, new books, and lots more! Billy and I didn't do to bad either! Billy got some new clothes and gadgets that he wanted and I got a new camera! I don't really know how to use it yet, so the pictures below are still from my old camera. New pictures to come soon!

First Hair Cut

I took Kellen for his first hair cut yesterday. He still doesn't have a whole lot of hair, but it was starting to grow over his ears. We also got rid of the rat tail that was starting in the back! He was a very good boy! My cousin Jennifer starting cutting my hair 15 years ago. It was really cool to have her give Kellen his first hair cut!

Bath Time

We all love bath time! Kellen has so much fun splashing and playing with his toys, and we enjoy watching him have fun. He usually gets upset when its time to get out. I'm so glad he's not afraid of the water. I can't wait for summer, we are going to have so much fun in the pool and at the beach next year!

9 Months

I am a little behind on my posting, Kellen is almost 10 months now but just went to the doctor last week for his 9 month well visit. He is 22 lbs 6 oz (75 percentile) and 29 in long (75 percentile). He is no longer eating baby food, he actually refuses to eat it. So we are giving him yogurt, cheese, veggies, fruit, and some meats. He still really loves all vegetables. Its the fruit that I have a hard time getting him to eat. He does like banana and avocado, but doesn't like anything that might be a little bit sour like pears and apples. I'm sure as he gets a little older he'll start to like more fruits. Even though I know he probably won't eat them, I still put them on his tray for him to try. He's crawling all over and pulls himself up on everything. We've had a lot more bumps and bruises these past few weeks. He's starting to walk. He pulls himself up on his "sit to stand" Tonka truck cruiser and pushes it all over the living room. He also walks around the coffee table and couches. He also loves to crawl up the stairs. We have to really watch him or have the gate up all the time.

We are very excited to celebrate Kellen's first Christmas this year!

Cookies

I got together with my cousins, Ashley and Mindie (not pictured, cause she refuses to let us photograph her) to make and decorate cookies for Christmas. We made sugar cookies, turtles, and chocolate chip cookies. I think they look pretty good, and didn't taste too bad either!!

First Christmas Tree

Last weekend we went out to a Christmas tree farm with friends of ours to find a tree. Unfortunately, we didn't find a tree at the farm to cut down so we headed to another favorite spot of ours, Willey's Farm. We did find a tree there. I don't think Kellen minded the tree being in the house, but he was all over the lights! He was really good about not touching the tree or the ornaments the first few days, but now every time I leave the room he sneaks over and pulls something off!

Music

Our little guy really LOVES music! Whenever he hears a beat he starts to dance. Yesterday, we were in the grocery store and they had Christmas music playing, Kellen was bobbing his head up and down as we went through the aisles. It was so adorable, even others were commenting on his moves! He especially loves it when his Uncle Keith plays his guitar or banjo for him. I hope he continues this love for music as he gets older! Neither my husband or myself play any music instruments, so we would love for him to learn!

Someone let me outta here

Kellen had a bit of a rough week, he was sick with a fever for three days. This morning when he woke up I could tell he was feeling a lot better. Hard to believe he was so sick only a few hours before.

Kellen & Emma

Before it got too cold, we took advantage of the nice weather and took pictures outdoors with some good friends of ours. It took several takes, but we eventually caught Kellen and Emma in the same shot!

Bed Head

Its so nice to wake up to a happy baby! As you can see by his bed head, Kellen is a bit of a wild sleeper.

Good Morning!

Kellen enjoys standing in his crib now that he can pull himself up! Although, it makes it a little more difficult for us to get him to lay down and go to sleep at night we do enjoy watching him explore and learn new things everyday. Its hard to believe he's 9 months.

So Sleepy

Lastnight we went to a friends, so Kellen stayed up pretty late. By the time we got home and he went to bed it was almost 10:00 p.m. I put him in his crib and he started to crawl around and pull himself up as he usual does, so I continued to leave the room. About an hour later I went in to check on him, only to find...

...him sleeping while sitting up in his crib! It was so funny to see, that I had to get the camera.

Jungle Gym

"Hey, check out my new jungle gym! Isn't my mommy so nice, she put it right in the middle of the living room, just for me!"

We are having a hard time keeping him from crawling through our coffee table. I think we might have to temporarily move it!

Happy Halloween

Being that Kellen is only 8 months old, we decided taking him Trick-or-Treating (and us eating all the candy) probably wasn't the best idea! Instead we just dressed him up and handed out candy to the kids that came by our house. Dr. Thompson looked so cute, and really enjoyed his stethoscope.

8 Months Today

Kellen is eight months old today. I know everyone always says how fast it goes, but I don't think you can really get it until you've lived it. So many things have happened over the past month. He went from rolling all the time to getting on this hands and knees, to the "tri-pod" position, to a crawl. He's recently found his tongue, and is obsessed with sticking it out all the time (as you can see in the picture on the left). He went from his 6-9 month clothing being big, to it being to tight, and now in 12 months. He's also become quite the chatter box. He just sings and babbles on all day long. I have noticed that he's really starting to imitate us. Just today I gave him his hairbrush to preoccupy him for a minute, and I caught him holding it up to his head, like he was trying to brush his hair! I know he's my son, but I can't help thinking "he's just so darn cute!"

Watch Out, He's on the Move

Its official, he's crawling!

Baby Dedication

We celebrated on Sunday as we dedicated our son, Kellen Christopher to the Lord. He was such a good boy! I think he loved all the attention! Many thanks to those that came out to share this special day with us! And congratulations to the other six families that also dedicated their sons and daughters that day!

The cake was delicious! Buttercream frosting, white cake with raspberry filling! Yummy!
