Sweet Potatoes & Sleep Sacks

Kellen got his first taste of sweet potatoes this weekend. We decided a few months ago that we wanted to try to make his baby food. This way we can buy organic fruits and vegetables, and get him use to eating the same food as us all while saving money. He wasn't sure what to think at first. The consistency was a little thicker than what he's use to. He did manage to eat about a tablespoon. We'll try again tomorrow!

Kellen's been swaddled since day one. The tighter the wrap, the better he'd sleep. At first we were able to use a small blanket, once he got a little bigger we had to order a larger swaddle blanket with velcro. For the past several weeks, I have been trying to get him to sleep without the swaddle during nap time but have been unsuccessful. So earlier in the week, we decided to wait until Friday night (incase it was a long night, at least we wouldn't have to get up early the next day) to try the sleep sack.

I couldn't believe how well he did the first night! He rolled over on his side right away and fell asleep. Its been two nights and four naps later, and he's still sleeping soundly in the sack. Farewell to the swaddle!
