As one of our projects, Kellen and I are making Valentine's Day cards. Here's the first two. Still have several more to make. Hopefully we can get them done in time.

Extended Christmas...

I am so behind on my posts.  Hopefully, I can get caught up soon.  This is the continuation of our Christmas.  After having an early Christmas in NC, we headed up to Delaware to spend the holiday with the family.  We squeezed a lot of visiting into several days.  Grampy and Grammy Lorraine came down from New Hampshire.  We were able to spend some time with them on Christmas Eve.  They gave Kellen the cool red push car, that he can't get enough of!

After visiting with Grampy and Grammy Lorraine and after Kellen had a nap, we headed over to Pop-Pop's for the Fletcher's Christmas Party.   We had food, games, and gifts.  It was a great time, as usual!  Its always nice to get to see everyone.  Kellen had a blast!  He got a huge stocking from Mom-Mom Sandy, filled with lots of fun things.  One thing being the cute dog hat he's wearing.  We tried to get a picture of all the grand-kids, but unfortunatley, everyone wasn't there at the same time.

After the party, we headed back to Grammy's to get ready for Santa to come!  We put out some cookies and milk, and got in our jammies!  Kellen took another ride in his red car before bed, and was caught stealing a cookie!

On Christmas morning, Billy and I woke before Kellen. Of course, he didn't understand that is was Christmas so he just slept in like any other morning. After he woke up, we rounded up the troops (Grammy, Howard, and Uncle Keith) and headed to check out what Santa had left. Kellen didn't pay any attention to the gifts under the tree, he just wanted another ride in his red car!

Another favorite toy, was the soccer goal that Uncle Keith gave him.

After all the wrapping paper had been torn and bagged up, we all just sat around and enjoyed watching Kellen play.  As you can see, he was still enjoying his little red car!

Beep Beep

One of Kellen's favorite Christmas gifts, was this little red car that he got from Grampy and Grammy Lorraine.  The faster you push, the happier he is!  Last weekend, we got to spend some time with cousin Travis and he really showed Kellen what that little red car could do...

 look at that jump!
They had a great time!  The down side, now Kellen thinks I'm going to run back and forth across the street like Travis.

23 Months

Today, my sweet little boy is 23 months old.  He's full of energy and quite the investigator.  He's talking more and more every day, and knows more words than I can count.  Some of his favorite foods are waffles, macaroni, cereal, and broccoli.  He also loves to play outside, and gets quite upset when its time to come inside.  Balls are still a favorite, along with trucks, trains, and other boy things.  Kellen has started to "pee pee" on the potty.  Its only been 5 or 6 times so far, but its a good start.

Kellen is growing so fast, its hard to keep track of all the new and wonderful things that he does and learns day to day.  He is such a blessing!

Christmas Comes Early

Since we were going to be traveling to De for Christmas and had very limited space in the car, it didn't make sense to take gifts all the way up there just to open and load back in the car.  So we decided to celebrate Christmas a little early this year.   This is NC Christmas:

Opening his stocking.  There were crayons, stickers, coloring books, and a Thomas the Tank Engine!

This picture says it all.  He couldn't have been more excited!

"Choo Choo!"

Kellen was so psyched about his trains!  He played with them nonstop.  He got very upset when it was time to take a nap.  Poor Thomas, his battery died after two days.

This was a great gift, even better than I had imagined.  It did take three hours to put together, but has been worth every minute.  Kellen wakes up in the moring and asks to play with his choo choo's.  Its so nice to see him entertain himself!  It was a great Christmas!

Family Time

We had a great time being home for Thanksgiving.  We got to visit with all our family in just a short time.  Kellen really enjoyed playing with cousin Travis.  They have such a good time together.  Of course we had a big turkey dinner with lots of pie.  We also celebrated daddy's 30th birthday while we were home!

Warmer Weather

Life has been so busy the past two months.  Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's I don't know where the time has gone.  These pictures are from a little a quaint little place nearby that has great walking trails and cute shops.  We went one Saturday in late November, when the weather was still really nice.

The Muppets

We took Kellen to see his first movie in the theater, The Muppets! He did a lot better than I expected. He sat on uncle Keith's lap for most of the show and only got antsy the last 10 minutes or so. Looking forward to watching many more movies together.

Hand-made ornaments

I had several people ask me about the recipe for the home-made ornaments. It's very simple:

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup water

Mix ingredients and roll out. You might need to add extra flour if too wet. Use cut outs. I chose to do hand imprints, so I made cut outs with a circle, then pressed Kellen's hand into the dough. If you want to hang ornaments, use a toothpick to make a hole in the dough before baking. Place on cookie sheet, bake at 275 for 2-3 hours (until dough is hard). Cool cut outs for several hours. I used acrylic paints to decorate. After paint is dry, I sprayed with polyurethane. Let dry. Thread string through hole, ready to hang.
